This is actually a bit more realistic, as Japanese are more reserved and don't tend to move as fast into relationships as people in the West. In fact, most high school students don't have boyfriends/girlfriends because they're focusing more on their studies. Anime and Hentai are usually unrealistic because of how fast things tend to move in them. Most of us are here for the slow burn and actual decent story. If you just want quick action, just go watch hentai.
